- Added support for customer’s chipset in Linux WPA supplicant utility
- Modified the WLAN device driver to provide functionalities required for WPA
- Enhanced the WLAN device firmware to support WPA security feature
- Maximum reusability of code from different platform with optimum code size after porting
- Convincing the client with alternate design in data path for better performance
Approach
- Understood the Linux WPA supplicant Framework
- Designed an interface between the WPA supplicant and host driver
- Implemented a wrapper for the device in WPA supplicant
- Modified the WLAN driver to support functionalities needed for WPA
Benefits
- Complete support for WPA security for the WLAN device was made available with Linux which was not present earlier
- Modular design to incorporate further changes in line with enhancements to WPA specifications
