MILPITAS, Calif., October 8, 2010—Global Edge Software Ltd. announced today that its IP Video Surveillance Solution will be demonstrated at Renesas Developers Conference 2010, a four-day conference providing valuable technical information on embedded designs, held from October 11th to 14th, 2010.

GlobalEdge’s Video Surveillance Software solution is comprised of Surveillance Camera and Server software running on the Linux Operating System. The camera software has been integrated with the Renesas Electronics MS7724 platform to make use of the high-performance hardware accelerators and video codecs enabling high-resolution video capture and encoding.  Combined with the ability to support dual cameras, this solution offers a cost-effective solution for multiple camera deployments.  Using this solution, customers can readily develop video surveillance systems to meet their demanding requirements.

The Video Surveillance solution has been designed to support easy integration with the codecs supplied by Renesas Electronics, 3rd party vendors or with those developed by GlobalEdge.  GlobalEdge has used the hardware acceleration and DSP optimized libraries provided by Renesas Electronics to get maximum performance with least CPU load and power consumption. The modules that are likely candidates for acceleration are the Audio / Video CODEC’s and the Security libraries. The solution supports audio / video delivery in multiple protocols and formats.
