GlobalEdge Partners with Tier 1 Semiconductor Company to provide PacketCable 2.0 and 1.5 Solutions

Bengaluru, India, 15.Jul.2011 – Global Edge Software Ltd, a renowned embedded solutions and services company, announced the availability of PacketCable™ 2.0 and 1.5 solutions running on customer specific advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) Cable Set Top Box Platform that includes a DOCSIS 3.0 compliant cable modem.  This solution enables end customers to leap frog the competition and offer next generation VoIP services on Cable networks.

This PacketCable™ 2.0 Firmware stack complies with CableLabs® PacketCable™ 2.0 Specification and is ready for FULL certification in products. This enables our partner to offer solutions for its Cable Modem and Set Top Box ODMs and OEMs for immediate deployment.

GlobalEdge is an independent software development company providing services to 3rd party OEM and silicon vendors for PacketCable™ 1.3 S-MTA, PacketCable™ 1.5 E-MTA and PacketCable™ 2.0 E-DVA solutions.  As a proactive member of the CableLabs® PacketCable™ community, GlobalEdge has been contributing to the definition, refinement and certifiable test definition of the PacketCable™ 2.0 specifications.

In partnership with Tier 1 Semiconductor Company, GlobalEdge has developed PacketCable™ 2.0 and PacketCable™ 1.5 solutions for the partner’s advanced Cable Set Top Box platforms.  The unique architecture of the software solution supports PacketCable™ 1.5 E-MTA and PacketCable™ 2.0 E-DVA functionality in a common framework.  This allows the solution to be deployed in either PacketCable™ 1.5 or PacketCable™ 2.0 networks.  In addition to the mandatory features for CableLabs® Basic and Full Certification, the PacketCable™ 2.0 E-DVA solution includes support for optional requirements including IPSec, Certificate Bootstrapping, HTTP Configuration File Download, etc.  With the inclusion of support for IPv6 the solution is ready for next generation IP networks that are being deployed.

Our Partner will be offering this solution to all its upcoming Cable Modem and Set Top Box customers.
